Sharyl J. Truty, M.D. Dr. Truty graduated from Loyola Stritch School of Medicine, completed a family practice residency at Rush-Presbyterian-St.Luke's Medical Center and completed a sports medicine fellowship at Pheobe Putney Hospital in Georgia. During her time in Georgia, she worked as an assistant team physician for the University of Georgia where she worked extensively with their track, gymnastic and swimming teams. Her interests include women's musculoskeletal medicine as well as adult and adolescent sports medicine. She also received an acupuncture certification from the UCLA Helms Institute and integrates this into her practice. Dr. Truty's philosophy is to work with her patients to investigate any underlying medical or biomechanical issues that may affect each individual's recovery and performance. She, herself, is a former NCAA scholarship basketball player who enjoys shooting hoops, running, cycling, skiing, and sailing.
